Una vision de futuro

Thursday 26, April 2012

We have been invited to speak at ” Una vision de Futuro”, a series of talks organised by the Roca Barcelona Gallery, which have as main theme, the future of design.

We will be sharing our experience of setting a studio and working for clients in different parts of the world.

Why did we set up the studio in London? What are the advantages and disadvantages of having the studio based in there?
If you want to know the answers, or do you have any question please come along and put it forward.

The talk will be on the 3rd of May at 19.00pm. To assist you will need to book here. It is free.

Edition of 9

Wednesday 21, March 2012

April is getting closer and this year we will be showing new work at ” Edition of 9″, an exhibition organised and curated by Something Good during the Milan Furniture Fair. ” Edition of 9″ focus on the relation between design an craftsmanship.

Following the same principle of last year, each designer is paired with a craftsmen specialised in one material.
Marble, wood, ceramic or cast iron, are just some of the materials to play with.
With Italy being known for their skilled craftsmen, expect a rich exchange of ideas, and a finely hand made collection of objects.

The exhibition will be part of the Ventura Lambrate area, where the most experimental shows have been taking place in the last couple of years.
You can find more information about the opening date and participant designers here.

The exhibition has been supported by CNA Vicenza.

Yutaka Tajima

Wednesday 21, March 2012

Once upon a time we designed a T-shirt for Sheffield-based fashion brand Yutaka Tajima.
Here would go now a long story, but press forward and go directly to their website, where you can find the T-shirt for sale on-line here.

Yutaka Tajima’s creative director, Bob Sanderson, has gathered a diverse collection of printed t-shirts with many versions of the Yutaka Tajima logo, and you can create your own version too.
The artists and designers reinterpreting Yutaka Tajima logo include Erik Kessels, James Goggin, HORT, Jethro Haynes , Takeshi Matsumura and Will Bryant amongst others.

The artwork for the T-shirt was made with bits and pieces from my defunct old printer.

Tube Toys

Tuesday 14, February 2012

Gift brand NPW presented the ‘Tube Toys’ at New York International Gift Fair earlier this month.

The ‘Tube Toys’ are a series of toys ready to assemble where the packaging is also a part of the product, reducing considerably the amount of material discarded after buying it.

We design them inspired by the he fact that children often enjoy playing with the packaging of toys as much as they do with the actual toys.
