The Standard lamp torch is part of a larger project aimed to re-design, in only one day, ten objects bought at a £1 shop in London.
The 10 objects were designed for an exhibition called “10 X 3 : 10 jours, 10 objets,  £10.” at the “A Suivre…” gallery in Bordeaux, France.

Instead of trying to emulate an expensive product, every object was simplified with the intention to reduce the number of parts, or facilitate its use.  
The torch is just an extension of the battery and change aspect every time that we change the brand of the battery.

The 9v battery is the only one that has a clip which doubles as a connector . A glow in the dark paint has been applied to the top edge and on the sides indicating the polarities.
